RRU 345

RRU 345 is one of our Alexander Dennis Enviro200s. It currently carries the registration RRU 345, having previously been registered WA14 HNB and, after that, WO14 PLU.

Built in 2014, WA14 HNB was originally used by Babcock as part of its fleet for the Ministry of Defence. It was subsequently registered WO14 PLU with the DVLA before making its way into passenger service.

After leaving Babcock, the Enviro200 made its way to us at Faresaver in 2026 and was given the cherished registration RRU 345. The registration itself has a long history with us and has been carried by several very different vehicles over the years.

The first Faresaver vehicle to carry RRU 345 was a Dennis Dart SLF with Plaxton Pointer 2 bodywork, originally registered V100 CBC. It joined us in 2009 and was re-registered RRU 345 in July 2012, before being withdrawn in October 2014.

The registration then passed to a 2005 MAN 14.220 with MCV Evolution bodywork, originally registered AE05 EUZ. This vehicle joined us in March 2014 and took over RRU 345 from the Dart. It later returned to its original registration when the cherished plate was transferred to another vehicle.

Next came an Alexander Dennis Enviro200, originally registered YX09 AEU. This vehicle was new to First London and later operated by Metroline before joining Faresaver. It carried RRU 345 for several years before the registration was transferred again and the vehicle sold to CentreBus.

In 2022, RRU 345 was transferred to a Volvo B9TL with Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodywork, originally registered LK59 CWR. This vehicle was new to First Centrewest as VN37776 and later became Metroline VW1755 before joining us. It was acquired by Faresaver in March 2022 and re-registered RRU 345 in April.

There is even an earlier history to the registration outside Faresaver. In the 1980s, RRU 345 was carried by a Volvo B10M-61 with Van Hool Alizée bodywork, originally registered KGG 726Y. It was re-registered RRU 345 in November 1984 and operated with Clyde Coast Coaches before later passing to other operators and eventually being re-registered WSF 643Y.
