We’ve proudly run our own Kids Go Free scheme during the school holidays for more than 20 years. Throughout that time, we’ve funded the initiative ourselves, without any financial support from local authorities or Government, because we believe in encouraging families to use the bus to explore and enjoy days out during the holidays.

This Summer, the Government has introduced a national ‘Kids Go Free’ scheme. As operators will be reimbursed for eligible journeys, we feel it is appropriate to take part. This means we must follow the national scheme’s terms and conditions, which differ slightly from our previous offer.

What’s changing?

Under the national scheme:

Only children aged 5–15 will travel free. Children aged 16–18 will pay the standard child fare. Proof of age may be requested.

Children do not need to be accompanied by an adult or concessionary pass holder to travel free and may travel independently. However, we recommend that younger children continue to travel with a responsible adult where possible.

We look forward to welcoming families on board throughout the summer holidays and hope you’ll make the most of the opportunity to get out and explore by bus.

This fare offer is being provided with funding from HM Government for all trips taken in August.

Trips taken in The West of England Combined Authority area (Bath/Bristol/South Gloucestershire) between 18/7 – 31/7 and between 1/9 – 6/9, are provided with funding from The West of England Combined Authority.

Trips taken in Wiltshire between 23/7 – 31/7 are provided without funding, and is being offered by Faresaver without reimbursement – just because we are amazing!
